Classes for Teenagers and Adults

Our Foundation Yorùbá course for teenagers (13 – 17 years) and adults focuses on language that can be used in everyday conversation. The best way to learn any language is through speaking. Whilst focussing on specific themes, our learners watch movies, listen to music, write poetry, play games and participate in various group activities. These fun and intensive learning experiences provide our learners the opportunity to bolster their speaking, reading, listening and writing capabilities. Our teaching style is interactive, making learning easier and faster!

This course is currently available online only with Part 1 running for 10 weeks.

You can register by clicking BOOK NOW.

Group classes starts on Sunday 4th July and ends Sunday 5th September 2021.

Class will be every Sunday at 7pm. Every class is recorded so you can always watch back at your convenience if you miss a class.

At the end of this level students will have built on all they learnt in Part One and should be able to initiate and hold simple conversations in Yoruba.

Classes available for children aged 4 – 12 years old.

Private Classes

We offer structured private online and face to face classes tailored to learners of all ages and levels (children and adults).

Our curriculum has been meticulously developed to break down the fundamental building blocks of learning Yorùbá language; and follows a structure which allows our students to be involved in real communication from the very beginning. This ensures that their natural strategies for language acquisition is used and allows them to learn to use the language rather than merely memorising words.

The four language skills developed in our classes are speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

The classes can be tailored to your needs and we can offer flexible hours.

Testimonials

Thank you so much for all your hard work with the children. Your teaching methods are fantastic, I’m so surprised at how much the girls have progressed! Even family members are shocked at how much they’ve learned in such a short time. The girls really enjoy the lessons, especially Renée. We’re looking forward to the next term! Thanks again

Dear Teacher Gbemi, thank you for helping us teach the children an important part of their culture so they can grow in confidence and self-love.

I am really impressed with CultureTree. My son Tobi did the Summer Foundation Yoruba Course and he learnt a lot of Yoruba words and phrases. Teacher Gbemi gives the children lots of encouragement and gives them all equal attention. She also makes learning fun with a good variety of activities, games, songs and homework.
