African culture is rich and vibrant.
The beauty of the African continent is evident in its diverse cultures; our languages, art, music, food, fashion and lifestyle. Every country has its own unique practices and traditions which are passed on from generation to generation.
Undoubtedly, not every child or adult of African origin is able to live or share in this cultural experience.
Some are able to discover and embrace their multicultural identities while in the diaspora. Others however, may feel led to abandon their culture in favour of assimilation and acceptance in their chosen environment, potentially resulting in a loss of self esteem and cultural identity from early years to adulthood.
In the 2nd session of our 3-part webinar our guest panellists Dr. Melissa Bennett, Ayomide Akin and Dr. Rebecca Jones will explore how we can make a conscious effort to change mindsets and empower ourselves and our children to celebrate and embrace our culture and heritage wherever we are.
