African Faces in 2024 Grammy Nominations

Burna Boy

Burna Boy’s fifth studio album, Twice As Tall, earned him the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2021. His impressive talent was recognised again in 2024, as he received four Grammy nominations. Burna Boy’s entry for the Best African Music Performance award is the critically acclaimed “City Boys,” a lively Afro-fusion track. 


Davido X Musa keys

The news of Davido’s Grammy nominations has sent his fans into a frenzy. “UNAVAILABLE,” his famous collaboration with South African producer Musa Keys, has been nominated for the Best African Music Performance award. The upbeat dance track celebrates life and harmony and has become a regular at parties.


Tyla

The fame of Tyla, a singer from South Africa, has been on the rise lately. Her hit song “Water” not only helped her break through the glass ceiling but also set several records. Along with Musa Keys, Tyla is one of the two South African musicians who have been nominated for the Best African Music Performance category at the 2024 Grammy Awards.


Ayra Starr

Ayra Starr, a rising superstar from Nigeria, is making a name for herself as one of the best in the African music industry. She recently became the first female Nigerian musician to receive a nomination for Best African Music Performance, and her 2022 single “Rush” has already gained popularity in her home country.


Asake X Olamide

Asake is considered one of the most prominent and successful African musicians of this generation. As a result of his impressive accomplishments, he has been nominated for his first Grammy award. His second album, Work of Art, featured the popular track “Amapiano,” which was released shortly after his debut. Asake and Olamide have received their first Grammy nomination for “Amapiano.”
